What is the sound of universe om

When you open yourself up to the vibration of Om, you will feel yourself grounded not into the earth, but into the cosmos that surround you. Just like a raindrop dissolves into the ocean once it has touched the surface, once you feel the sound resonate in your throat you will feel the barriers that separate you from the ocean of love that is all around you disappear. To make Om, do not try to push air out through your vocal cords as if you were singing. Instead, let the energy within pass by your vocal cords and resonate and vibrate as the air in your lungs flows past them. The first forces air out, the second simply allows air to flow from within your body to the world outside. That flow connects you to the energy within and to the energy without. In so doing, Om connects you to everything that is.

In Hinduism and yogic philosophy, the cosmic sound is the auditory manifestation of Brahman, the Absolute Truth or Ultimate Reality. It is verbalized as the mantra, Om (also spelled Aum). According to the Bhagavad Gita, “God is the sound of Om.” The cosmic sound is associated with the creation of the universe. It is believed that before creation, the humming of energy existed. That energy became the vibration of creation and so the universe was created out of the ever-present sound of Om. This cosmic sound and its vibration still exists around and inside everyone. Cosmic sound is also known by the Sanskrit term, nada. Nada yoga philosophy believes all things – living or inanimate – consist of nada . Through meditation, the yogi creates space for the cosmic sound. Likewise, the " Hatha Yoga Pradipika" text says when a yogi reaches the supreme state, the cosmic sound can be heard. Originated from the Hindu scriptures, the mantra is considered to have high spiritual and creative power but despite this, it is a mantra that can be recited by anyone. It’s both a sound and a symbol rich in meaning and depth and when pronounced correctly it is actually AUM. The syllable is also referred to as omkara (ओंकार, oṃkāra), aumkara (औंकार, auṃkāra), and pranava (प्रणव, praṇava). One of the most popular misconception about “OM” is that it is religious. On the contrary, it is the most universal syllable because it neither refers to any particular religion nor God. The ancient Indians arrived at this tone through meditation, it was given to them intuitively and contemplatively by “opening up to the cosmos”. It is in all the religions in some or the other form. Om is one of the most simple and ancient mantras, or sound vibrations. Known as the sacred primordial sound, it is said in the yogic tradition that all sound is born from Om. Om is known as the original vibration of the universe. This sacred sound is composed of three fundamental syllables – A U M, which represents the various states of awareness, and the trinity of divine energies of Creation, Preservation and Dissolution. The final soundless sound of the sacred vibration of AUM is silence; that which is beyond all states— our True Nature. Within Aum, the first sound is “Ah,” then the sound “Ooh,” then “Mm,” followed by a pause of silence. All life on earth is simply energy, occupying space and matter. Most of us are familiar with the mantra OM. We routinely chant it at the end of a group meditation or a yoga class, without thinking much about it. Maybe we use a mantra that begins with OM, but what does it really represent? What is the true value of this all-powerful sound? The Creation of the Universe According to Sound Science tells us that the Universe began with a big bang, whereas Imagine, if you can, a time before the Universe existed. Imagine a field of Pure Consciousness, an eternal silence. Not an empty silence, but one filled with the potential for everything. At some point, Pure Consciousness decided it wanted to have an experience but, as nothing else existed, it could only experience itself. Because all experiences are based on contrast, Pure Consciousness had to move within itself to experience itself. Now, movement creates friction, and friction creates noise, so Pure Consciousness experiencing itself created a sound. However, Pure Consciousness, by definition, is silent, so this sound, which was OM, had to be forced out of the silence and became what we call conditioned consciousness. OM, or conditioned consciousness, is what we experience as the Universe in which we live. The idea that God created the world out of nothing is also central today to Islam, Christianity, and Judaism—and many references to a god creating the Universe by sound (words) exist.
