Key Points • The Sambal 2.0 scheme is a changed form of the Sambal scheme itself which was launched in 2018. • Lakhs of tendu leaf collectors of the state have also been included as unorganised labourers in the new registration process under Sambal 2.0. At the same time, the workers who were earlier declared ineligible will also be able to apply afresh. • Under ‘Anugrah Sahayata Yojana’ (ex-gratia assistance scheme) for lakhs of workers in the unorganised sector, an amount of Rs.4 lakh is given to the family in case of death in an accident. Rs.2 lakh is provided in case of death in normal circumstances, Rs.2 lakh on permanent disability and Rs.1 lakh on partial disability. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will distribute ex-gratia assistance of Rs 551 crore 16 lakh to 25 thousand 982 labourers’ families and Rs 22 crore 23 lakh to 1036 families of construction workers under the Sambal Yojana on Monday through a single click. Along with this, he will also interact with the beneficiaries of the scheme. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan will also launch Sambal 2.0 portal to make the scheme more beneficiary oriented. Labour Minister Brijendra Pratap Singh will also be present in this programme to be held on May 16 at 11 am at the Chief Minister’s residence. Sambal 2.0 scheme is being started by redesigning the scheme to benefit more beneficiaries from Sambal Yojana. Under the scheme, the tendu patta pluckers of the state will also be included in the category of unorganized workers. In Sambal 2.0, a provision has been made to apply on MP online or from public service centers and to give the information of the application on the mobile of the worker through SMS or WhatsApp. In this scheme, workers who were earlier declared ineligible will also be able to apply afresh. Principal Secretary Labour Sachin Sinha informed that there is a provision to provide assistance under the Sambal Yojana for the workers and their families working in the unorganized sector of the state.
