Hari Om It is always preferred to visit first Sri Padmavathi Ammavari Temple at Tiruchanur (lower Tirupati). If one visits Sri Padmavathi Temple, before 9 am it will not be that much crowded and one can have peaceful Darsan of Sri Padmavathi Ammavari (Alamelu Mangai Thayar). If one visits by 4 PM, through by buying special ticket (before 4: 30 PM), Kunguma Archana can be performed; 2 persons per ticket are allowed during this time which is around 5PM. One may have very comfortable and peaceful Darsan during this Kumkum Archana. It is widely believed that one should preferably have darsan of Padmavathi Ammavari before having Darsan Of Lord Balaji at Tirumala. and it is also believed that Sri Ammavari recommends the devotee to Balaji to fulfill his/her prayers/requests. In Vishnu Temples, normally one should not worship first Lord Vishnu’s idol before worshipping the Thayar ( Devi) and therefore after worshipping Devi (Lakshmi) only you should worship Perumal). Padmavathi Temple alias Padmavathi Mandir or Padmavathi Koil is a famous temple at Tiruchanur or Tiruchanoor. It is located five kilometers away from the world famous temple town of Tirupathi. TTD to build Padmavati temple in Chennai

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has resolved to construct a temple for goddess Padmavati in Chennai with an estimated budget of ₹6.85 crore. The temple is proposed to be built in a 14,880 sft site in the GN Chetty Street in the heart of the city. The land, with the current market value of more than ₹30 crore, was donated by noted South Indian actress P. Kanchana. Initially, it was planned to construct the temple with ornamental brick work and the Rajagopuram with stone. The total cost of the project was pegged at ₹5.75 crore. Tenders were also finalised. Meanwhile, TTD trust board member and president of Local Advisory Committee (LAC) at Chennai, A.J. Sekhar suggested using of granite stone for the construction of the temple akin to the ones built in Hyderabad and Kurekshetra. He contended that the use of granite would not only enhance the grandeur but also replicate the age-old temple architecture. Additional expenditure He also assured to pool the additional expenditure of ₹1.10 crore as donations as per the TTD norms when the engineering officials submitted that the revised work estimates would go up to ₹6.85 crore as against earlier etimate of ₹5.75 crore. Sri Padmavathi Ammavari Temple, Tirupati

Padmavathi Ammavari temple, devoted to goddess Laxmi and wife of lord Shri Venkateshwara is a must do when in Tirupati. The temple is conveniently located on the other side of the highway slightly away from the city, yet well connected with public transport. It is believed that the devotees who wish to visit the Tirumala temple, have to first visit the Ammavari temple and take blessings and permission to visit. The temple is not as crowded as the Tirumala temple (unless there is a special occasion), yet the general darshan or Sarvdarshan takes quite a bit of time. There is also a quicker way of darshan if you opt for Kumkum Archana, but it happens only between 3pm to 4pm and the tickets are also dispensed at the spot and only between 3pm to 4pm (no online booking available).
