Freddy Movie Review: Kartik Aaryan’s sordid journey into heart of darkness is a shockingly good watch, Movie Cast and Storyline

Freddy Movie Review: Kartik Aaryan's Freddy is as much a descent into the mind of a loner, as it is on how Nature nurtures nature. The sinister tale of a shy dentist in search of love who spirals when rebuked is a torrid tale of Machiavellian retribution, Freddy is a niche watch that blurs the line between right and wrong. The squalid colour of the walls dampens your spirits. A pall of monotonous doom hangs on the Baroque-style furniture cluttered across the Victorian apartment and amidst that a dejected dentist sits, colouring a Dinky aeroplane, questioning the solitary in life, while in conversation with a lone pet tortoise. Welcome to the world of Freddy. The Shashanka Ghosh directorial sets the tone early on, weaving the audience into the motif of a dark and layered tapestry in story-telling. Dr. Freddy Ginwala, a shy and socially awkward dentist, in search of intimacy, in this romance thriller, is unscrupulously duped in love, when a patient Kainaaz (Alaya F), seemingly in an abusive relationship, meticulously develops a relationship with our hero/ antihero (?), cajoles him into killing her husband, only to flagrantly show him the door, while in the arms of her real lover. The one prevailing thought you will get while watching this twisted tale of love is that Freddy plays out like a one-act play, not allowing the audience to have a breather in the hero’s descent into disturbia, Kartik Aaryan keeps you hooked as the efficacious dentist, who suffers from childhood trau...
