After losing both the ODI and T20I series as well as suffering a defeat in a one-off Test against Bangladesh, the Ireland cricket team will resume their cricketing action when they face Sri Lanka for a two-match Test series, starting April 16. The two-Test tour of Sri Lanka by Ireland will be the Irish’s second Test assignment of 2023 having lost a one-off Test as mentioned above. Currently ranked 12th on the ICC Test rankings, Ireland will have their task cut out against a Sri Lankan outfit who are seventh in the rankings. Sri Lanka, meanwhile, will look to make amends against Ireland after enduring a rather underwhelming tour of New Zealand where they lost the Test, ODI, and T20I series.
