Ryan Murphy Expecting Third Child with Husband David Miller

“He sat up, she was able to press her fingers in a bit deeper, Her eyes widened. Something was not right. From that moment came a day of terror and scans,” he said, adding that the doctors found that his son had neuroblastoma. “My baby had a tumor the size of a tennis ball at 18 months growing behind his abdominal wall. And the doctor said this was bad.” “Ford went through a six hour surgery and years of intense exams which required hours and hours of anesthesia. I cannot express to you in this room how difficult this was on him, how difficult this was for our family,” he said, adding that while he has yet to “emotionally recover” from it all, “Ford has.” “We must help and we must be prepared and we must be proactive,” he shared, adding that last year his family made a $10 million donation to the Children’s Hospital, where Ford received treatment — thanks to Walden. "There is now a wing dedicated under Ford’s name that specializes in helping children without our resources." Man Receives Life Term for Killing 1 of His 2 Wives : Courts: Former Valley civic leader David R. Miller is sentenced in Florida. The murder occurred during a confrontation over his double life.

A former San Fernando Valley civic leader who was married to two women simultaneously has been sentenced to life in prison in Florida for murdering his wife there during a confrontation over his double life. David R. Miller, 42, former president of the Granada Hills Chamber of Commerce and founder of the San Fernando Valley Leadership Foundation, must serve 25 years in prison before he is eligible for parole, said Joan Shannon of the Seminole County state attorney’s office. Judge Newman Brock also sentenced Miller to 15 years probation that would begin upon his parole date, and to a year in prison on a battery charge, Shannon said. At the sentencing hearing in Sanford, Fla., relatives of Jayne Miller testified about the effect of her death on their lives, Shannon said. On Dec. 17, a jury took three hours to find Miller guilty of the Sept. 15, 1991, shooting death of his 33-year-old wife in the parking lot of a storage facility outside Orlando. During the weeklong trial, witnesses testified that Miller’s wife of seven months had grown suspicious and hired a private investigator who tracked down his other wife, Dorothy Miller, in Pennsylvania. When David Miller married Jayne in 1991 he had been married to Dorothy Miller for six years, had run a Granada Hills printing business and had become a high-profile local leader. Miller moved with Dorothy in 1989 to Orlando, but then asked her to live in Pennsylvania with family members. Meanwhile, he secretly continued living in Calif...

David Miller

Born in San Diego, California, on April 14, 1973, although raised in Littleton (Colorado), David Miller is an American lyric tenor with a prodigious vocal record. From an early age, he participated in several musical works at school. He attended the Oberlin Conservatory in Ohio, where he graduated with a degree in Vocal Performance and Opera with excellent grades. After his studies, he was a resident artist of the Pittsburgh Opera and sang as lead vocalist with some of the most important opera companies in the Americas, Australia and Europe. I think that opera is the pinnacle of expression through voice. However, the experience of the popular version of Lurhman’s “La Boheme” encouraged me to take my head beyond the opera, and start using my voice in an even more passionate way. On May 6, 1998, he sang along with other kids for former President Bill Clinton in the White House. In 1999 he performed at the Teatro Municipal Santiago de Chile as Tybalt, in Bellini’s production of Capulets and Montagues, at the Savonlinna Festival along with the Los Angeles Opera. In the 2000-2001 season he played the role of Percy in Anne Bolene de Donizetti in Pittsburgh with Juan Mauceri. Miller began in the flamenco opera as Cassio during 2001 and 2002. Back in the USA he participated in The Tales of Hoffmann in Hartford (Connecticut). He worked with several US companies performing several roles, including Des Grieux in Manon; Romeo in Romeo et Juliette; Werther; Alfredo in La Traviata; Tami...

Principles of Social Justice — David Miller

Social justice has been the animating ideal of democratic governments throughout the twentieth century. Even those who oppose it recognize its potency. Yet the meaning of social justice remains obscure, and existing theories put forward by political philosophers to explain it have failed to capture the way people in general think about issues of social justice. This book develops a new theory. David Miller argues that principles of justice must be understood contextually, with each principle finding its natural home in a different form of human association. Because modern societies are complex, the theory of justice must be complex, too. The three primary components in Miller’s scheme are the principles of desert, need, and equality. The book uses empirical research to demonstrate the central role played by these principles in popular conceptions of justice. It then offers a close analysis of each concept, defending principles of desert and need against a range of critical attacks, and exploring instances when justice requires equal distribution and when it does not. Finally, it argues that social justice understood in this way remains a viable political ideal even in a world characterized by economic globalization and political multiculturalism. Accessibly written, and drawing upon the resources of both political philosophy and the social sciences, this book will appeal to readers with interest in public policy as well as to students of politics, philosophy, and sociology.
