In 2000, the Karnataka government launched Bhoomi RTC online portal, with an aim to digitise village land records and make it easy for landowners to search for detailed information. The village land records portal lists record of rights, tenancy and crop (RTC) information and allows changes and to check Bhoomi RTC portal. The village land records Bhoomi project is jointly funded by the central government and the state government. The Bhoomi project’s aim is to prevent fraud and manipulation by digitising all village land records in the state. Moreover, this information has been made available to the citizens via kiosk centers. The Bhoomi RTC project is now spread over 175 taluks and 6,000 gram panchayats.
